Deoranie (Ranie) Kellawan is not only a Programme Manager who supervises the Master Degree courses she also helps manage the adminstrative offices. She has over 30 years’ experience working within the private sector and with non-governmental organizations. She is the holder of a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Bedfordshire (UK), Advance Diploma in Project Management from the Institute of Commercial Management, Diploma in Business from the University of Cambridge, Diploma in Human Resource Management from Alison and a degree in Professional Counselling from the American Peace Studies University.

A firm believer in encouraging all Guyanese citizens to develop their educational capacity and build upon all work and life experiences, Ranie is known in the office as a strong supporter of capacity development. Ranie is one of the main Points of Contact between Nations and the University of Bedfordshire. Her dedication and work ethic help encourage her peers.Mrs. Kellawan is passionate about individual transformation and in helping others to achieve their goals. Mrs. Kellawan enjoys reading, travelling and gardening.

Guyana is a very multicultural country and Nations takes that to an even higher level. The breadth of students from all corners of the earth are visible at Nations.

What is something you are excited about in your department this year at Nations?

Nations University has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) using the Moodle platform. I am really excited about what this will do for the university and our students.

What do you love most about your job?

Networking, feeling that I can help people to realize their dreams of a higher education, knowing that people who get a higher qualification can contribute to the betterment of themselves and to society.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Nations?

Reading, gardening, listening to music

Trip to Sloth island.
